The Guru…Goats…and the Story of the Way Cool Website
Years ago, I had a student in class named Kelly Williams. Kelly always marched to the beat of her own drum. She liked history, and was the first student to point out to me the uncanny theme that permeates all world history—goats and naked people. Kelly noticed that the more you study world history, the more these themes surface. But this young lady wasn’t just a curious student of history. She also loved her music, and was fascinated by web design, artistic endeavors and photography. She was just a renaissance gal in general!
At some point, Kelly Williams and Ben Gracey joined forces to create the Way Cool Website, and the rest is history. Since then, we have welcomed millions of guests, including lots of former presidents (see the guestbook), students, movie stars, teachers, and just random passersby. The reach of the website just seems to expand with each passing year as word gets out. Recently, the Chinese government contacted us to try and buy ad space for their gymnastics team (but that’s a whole other story).
Eventually, Kelly graduated from JCHS (it only took her 6 years), and began making her mark in the real world. Today, she does a little bit of everything—not the least of which is ammaaaazzzzing photography. Honestly, you have to check out some of her work at http://lovesong4no1.deviantart.com. This site would not have been possible without Kelly. Her life is busy, busy, busy, but she always finds time for us, and I would be lost without her formidable skills in web design. So thank you, Kelly. You are the bomb…a very talented, intelligent and creative bomb. Please direct any suggestions about the site to Kelly at email@example.com. Much of the success of the website is due to the many excellent suggestions over the years from our regular visitors, so keep ‘em coming!
